ABOUT THE STAFF

Rick Sabatello PE

Mr. Sabatello is a registered Professional Electrical Engineer. He received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Mississippi in 1982. He joined DEI upon graduation, became a Principal in 2001, appointed Vice President in 2012 and appointed President in 2025.

His background includes healthcare, retail, hotel, educational, and industrial/laboratory projects with particular expertise in fire alarm, infrastructure upgrades and hospital design.

As a Principal, he is in responsible charge of project design, coordination and preparation of construction documents.

Anthony "Jay" Tolbert

Mr. Tolbert is a registered Professional Engineer in Illinois. He received his BS degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) in 1987. He joined the DEI team upon graduation, was appointed Director of Operations in 1996, and became a Principal in 2001.

Stephen Barnard LEED AP

Mr. Barnard is a certified LEED professional. He joined the Dickerson Engineering team in 1988, was appointed a Senior Associate in 2003, became a Principal in 2011, and was appointed Vice President in 2025.

Mr. Barnard supervises and manages project design, preparation/supervision of construction documents, project quotation, client consultation, and construction administration services.

Gregory Doffin PE

Mr. Doffin is a registered Professional Engineer in Illinois. He received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in 1992. He joined the Dickerson Engineering team in 1994, was appointed a Senior Associate in 2005, became a Principal in 2011, and was appointed Vice President in 2025.

He is in responsible charge of project design, preparation/supervision of construction documents, project quotation, client consultation, and construction administration services.
